_  Gaby Minnes Brandes, Ph.D. has been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1988. She is the co-director of the Vancouver School of the Alexander Technique teacher training program which she founded in 2002. She maintains a thriving private practice and currently teaches the Alexander Technique in the Theatre Department at Capilano University. Much of her current work and research focuses on exploring the connections between Alexander Technique and creativity as it pertains to musicians, singers and actors, some of which she has presented at the Lugano congress. Previously on council of CanSTAT, and currently on the CanSTAT Teacher Training Committee, Gaby has a particular interest in ways to train people to become effective Alexander teachers and how to evaluate their work.

Drawing upon the work of theorists and coaches who work with peak-performers, this workshop will present specific strategies for teaching skill-acquisition, and for efficient and effective ways to learn and practice various skills in the context of using Alexander's procedures.
